With the passage of time, our living spaces begin to look monotonous and boring. Smart ideas, that call for a bit of imagination, very little money and lots of love and affection for your home, can quickly add style and flavor to your everyday life. Here are some cheap decorating ideas, that work really well to bring more light and life into your home.

Cheap Decorating Ideas

Reshuffle and Repurpose your Belongings:

Do not throw them away; instead re purpose old furniture for future use. Bring out the old trunks and polish the old suitcases. These make amazing coffee table bases. Bring them out of the attic and display with pride!

Also try reshuffling your furniture. Experiment with several new layouts till you find one that works. The couch, chairs, tables, nothing is exactly fixed to the floor. Try moving them into a different place, a little to the left may be and you will see a refreshing new view. Additionally, rearrange the paintings and pictures on the walls to give your rooms a different dimension.

Add Some New Color for Maximum Impact:

Roll up your sleeves, and get your hands dirty. Switch up the colors; paint everything from the home entrance to the kitchen cabinets. And when in doubt, remember white goes with everything! If it sounds like too much work or may be your furniture is too precious to be painted on, try painting only one wall of the room in a bright color. It will bring out the best of your rooms’ lighting. Also try experimenting with different textures. It does not take much to make a home lively again.

Add Some Greenery to your Space:

Green foliage is a refreshing new addition to any part of a home. Add tiny pots of herbs to the kitchen window sill or slender flax in a huge vase to the living space. Plant flowers outside the bedroom window or decorate the TV lounge with palm leafs. Plants can add life and vitality to any space and are a relatively affordable way of putting the sparkle back into your home. You can opt for evergreen plants for a timeless appeal that will always keep your home feeling great, while adding to the overall home design and decor.

Do Not Forget The Floor Surfaces:

Your walls need some TLC every few years, and so do the floors, but we often forget about them entirely. If re flooring is too expensive an option, try adding an area rug. While you can stain and sand wood floors by yourself, it does take a lot of time and effort. If you are not willing to take the risk, or commit the time, then carpets and rugs are your perfect option. So many choices are available in an amazing array of colors and styles. Choose wisely and your floors will help the rest of the room well put together.

Create Fake Architectural Detail for Effect:

Painter’s tape will be your apprentice in this mission! Use it to paint horizontal or vertical lines across the room, or the entire home if you are feeling ambitions. This simple painting trick will make the space look bigger than it actually is. Also use the painter’s tape to create shapes on the walls that you can paint later. Or create easy, inexpensive frames for your favorite pictures. And do you know that you can create a molding with painter’s stape for that effortlessly classic look?

The Last Words:

You do not need professional decorators or other expensive resources to get your home looking its best at all times. Follow our easy and cheap decorating ideas; they are effortless and do not wreak havoc on your budget.
